David Rust makes a welcome return with a collection of new paintings that will delight and entrance those that know and love Cornwall.
For this show, painted especially for Trelissick Gallery, David has taken inspiration from his favourite parts of the County. Produced on site and developed in his studio overlooking St Michaels Mount, these works visit the quiet creeks, coves and sheltered havens of the south coast and also Cornwall’s Atlantic coastline of cliffs, headlands and sweeping beaches.
Watercolour painting demands the highest level of skill from the artist. With the draughtsmanship of his fluid brush strokes he has to describe the colour, form and atmosphere of his subject. Looking at these works you can see that David is a true master of this demanding medium
